ISTANBUL ISTATISTIK FIZIK GUNLERI21 - 23 Haziran 2007, Bogazici Universitesi************************************************ *** KISA KONUSMALAR ICIN 2nci CAGRI *** ************************************************ Geleneksel Istanbul Istatistik Fizik Gunleri'nin ondorduncusu 21 - 23 Haziran 2007 tarihleri arasinda Bogazici Universitesi'nde yapilacaktir. 14. Istatistik Fizik Gunleri'nde bulusmak dilegiyle, calismalarinizda basarilar dileriz.
Program Komitesi adina Iletisim: mmungan @ boun.edu.tr Katilim formu ve daha fazla bilgi icin: http://boltzmann.phys.boun.edu.tr International Conference on Nanoscale MagnetismICNM-2007 June 25-29, 2007, Istanbul, Turkey web page : http://web.gyte.edu.tr/ICNM/2007/ Scope and Topics The intensive investigations in the field of the nanoscale granular magnetic materials contribute to the great progress in various kinds of the magnetic storage media (computer floppy disks, sound/video tapes, etc.). The technical progress of past 15 years in the preparation of multilayer thin films / nanowires lead to discovery of the Giant Magnetoresistance (GMR) / Giant Magnetoimpedance (GMI) phenomena. The GMR- materials have already found applications as sensors of low magnetic fields, computer hard disk heads, magnetoresistive RAM chips etc. The market in the field of GMR- nanotechnology is estimated over $100 billion US$ annually. The GMI materials look very promising for developing a new generation of microwave band electronic devices (such as switches, attenuators, antennas) which could be managed electrically. Thus the research and development in the field of nanoscale magnetic materials is one of the most promising fields in today's science and high-tech industry. The Conference is supposed to bring together scientists doing basic and applied research in universities and research institutions, as well as researchers and technologists from industrial labs to share their expertise and experience, and to provide closer links between academic scientists and industry experts. The main aim of the meeting is to pave the way for information exchange among researchers from all over the world who are involved in the field of nanoscale magnetism and nanostructured materials. In addition, colobaration of research groups and companies in multi-disciplinary, international projects for the development of magnetic nanomaterials, nanotechnologies and nanoproducts are expected to take place. The scope of the meeting comprises various aspects of synthesis and patterning of magnetic nanostructures, their magnetic properties, topics in spin- dependent transport, spintronics applications. The presentations will be concentrated on the topics: Fundamental magnetic properties on nanometer scale Design, synthesis and characterization of nanostructured materials Magnetic nanoparticles and granular films Nanostructured magnetic semiconductors and quantum dots Magnetoelectric materials and multiferroics Nanoscaled magnetoelectronics Molecular nanotechnology Advanced nanodevice modeling Advanced magnetic materials and techniques Applications of nanostructured magnetic materials Industrial aspects of nanoscale magnetic materials International Organizing Committee Yildirhan Oner, Istanbul Technical University, Turkey (Co Chairman) Bekir Aktas, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey (Co Chairman) Omer Asim Sacli, Bahcesehir University, Turkey Lenar Tagirov, Kazan State University, Russia Faik Mikailov, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey Bulat Rameev, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey Programm Committee Saul Oseroff, San-Diego State University, USA Bretislav Heinrich, Simon Fraser University, Canada Jagadesh Moodera, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA Bulat Rameev, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey Faik Mikailov, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey Local Executive Committee Sinan Kazan, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey Resul Yilgin, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey Ali Cemil Basaran, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey Ali Zerenturk, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey Semran Ipek, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey Nurcan Dogan, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey Asiye Gonca Onan, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey Sumeyra Guler, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey Songul Tas, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey Dogan Erbahar, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey Harun Bayraktar, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey Kemal Ozdogan, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey Dates and Facts Important deadlines Notification about acceptance of abstracts: March 1, 2007 Second Announcement: March 1, 2007 Hotel Registration: April 1, 2007 Conference Registration: May 1, 2007 Third Announcement including Programme: June 1, 2007 Advanced Registration: June 15, 2007 Manuscript Submission: June 25, 2007
